The Lagos state government has replaced the wife of the embattled judge Adeniyi Ademola.
Olabode Ademola was on Wednesday, December 14, replaced as the head of service of Lagos state with Folashade Adesoye, the permanent secretary of the ministry of women affairs and poverty alleviation in the state.
Punch reports that Adesoye will function in an acting capacity at the moment till further notice.
The former head of service and her husband are currently facing chatges at a Federal capital Territory High Court in Abuja.
However, the Lagos state commissioner for information and strategy Steve Ayorinde said the Ademola sought permission to be excused from her duty as the Head of Service for the state.
Ayorinde said the permission will give her time to prove her innocence in the court of law.
“The governor had granted that approval and appointed an acting HoS,"Ayorinde said.
The duo were arraigned on an 11-count charge bordering on money laundering, conspiracy to receive gratification to the tune of N30 million from a lawyer.
Justice Ademola’s house was among those raided by operatives of the Department of State Services in October.
The DSS after the raid said they found, huge sum of money in both local and foreign currency in his house.
The judge was also accused of illegal possession of firearms.
