A 45-year-old beat wife to coma because of MMM.

A 45-year-old man in Calabar, Cross River state has been reportedly arrested for beating his wife to coma because she invested the children’s school fees in the MMM scheme that is causing apprehension across the country.
The man, whose name was given as Mark Friday, descended on his wife for using the money meant for their children’s school fees to invest in MMM.

The woman invested the entire amount on the scheme without her husband's knowledge
This is the second case of family brutality due to MMM as a man was also said to have beaten his wife in Lagos for investing in MMM.
NAIJ.com had earlier reported that a housewife, identified as Mrs. Ogenyi, has been beaten to stupor by her angry husband for allegedly investing the family’s saving in the controversial money doubling scheme called MMM.
The Ponzi scheme has remained controversial in Nigeria especially raising serious fears since its account was frozen earlier.
Many invested in the scheme despite warnings from the authorities including the Central Bank of Nigeria.
A report by Inside Calabar states that Friday gave his wife named Ekamma the sum of N280,000 to pay for their three children’s fees.
However, because the woman saw the opportunity of making quick cash through the scheme, she quickly invested it without her husband’s knowledge.
Now that the scheme is believed to have crashed, her husband got to know as the school sent him a reminder and that the school would soon begin its examination for the children.
Ekamma confessed to investing the money on MMM upon inquiry and this reportedly infuriated Friday.
The end result was a beating that made the woman faint. Friday locked the door while carrying out the act to stop neighbours from rescuing her.
A neighbor reportedly reported the case to the police and this led to his arrest.
